Pool chlorine dose chart
PWTAG guidance is 1.5 to 3 ppm free chlorine for domestic pools. Shock dose at 10 ppm. The chart converts ppm to grams or ml of each common pool product per 50 m³ of water.
§ 1Dose per 50 m³ pool
| Product | Dose |
|---|---|
| Calcium hypochlorite (65 % available Cl) | 23 g for 3 ppm; 77 g shock to 10 ppm |
| Sodium hypochlorite liquid (15 % available Cl) | 100 ml for 3 ppm; 333 ml shock to 10 ppm |
| Trichloroisocyanuric acid (90 % available Cl, stabilised) | 17 g for 3 ppm; 55 g shock to 10 ppm |
Convert for other pool volumes by simple proportion. A 25 m³ pool needs half the dose; a 100 m³ pool needs double. Always pre-dissolve granular product in a bucket of pool water before adding.[19]
